There are few things better than photographing a puppy... unless that puppy is Gunner. 🐾
If you've ever wondered whether puppies can have professional portraits, the answer is absolutely yes—and they're every bit as adorable as you'd imagine.
For Gunner's session, we met at one of my favorite outdoor locations, Secrest Arboretum in Wooster, Ohio. Between the open green spaces, beautiful trees, and gorgeous evening light, it was the perfect setting to let this little guy explore while we captured all of those sweet puppy expressions.
And honestly... that's exactly what I love most about puppy sessions.
They're playful. They're unpredictable. And they're full of personality.
Some of my favorite images aren't the perfectly posed ones—they're the moments where a puppy spots a bird, gets the zoomies, or gives me that head tilt that melts everyone's heart.
Some locations are just perfect for dogs, and Secrest Arboretum is definitely one of them.
It offers wide open spaces, beautiful walking paths, mature trees, and soft natural light that photographs beautifully throughout the evening. It's also quiet enough that most dogs can relax, sniff around, and simply be themselves.
One of the biggest advantages of photographing here is the variety. During one session, we can capture playful action shots in the grass, sweet close-up portraits, and scenic images that really showcase your dog's personality—all without traveling to multiple locations.
Whether your dog is an energetic puppy like Gunner or a calm senior who enjoys taking things a little slower, Secrest Arboretum provides a beautiful backdrop for every stage of life.
While Gunner's session took place in Wooster, I photograph dogs and their families throughout Akron, Canton, Medina, Ashland, Orrville, Millersburg, Mansfield, and across Northeast Ohio.
Whether you're celebrating a brand-new puppy, a birthday, an adoption anniversary, or simply want beautiful portraits of your best friend, I'd love to help you preserve this chapter of their life.
Because if we're being honest... puppies don't stay little nearly long enough.
The puppy stage is full of goofy smiles, floppy ears, oversized paws, and endless curiosity. It goes by so much faster than most of us expect.
My goal is to create a relaxed session where your dog can explore, play, and simply be themselves while I capture the moments you'll treasure for years to come.
You don't need a perfectly trained dog.
You don't need perfect behavior.
You just need your best friend.
